Yes, you read that correctly. But we're not talking the Athens, Georgia indie/college radio rock band that got world famous in the 90's, but the Italo disco act of which very little is known: the Italian R.E.M.
Nobody knows who was behind the project other than that it's Italian. They made one single in 1983 called Computer Communication with a looong A-side and a slightly shorter remix on the 2nd side. While the track is extremely simplistic and minimal I do find it to be rather hypnotic and fascinating. There's a computerized voice talking over the groove. I like the fact that noone knows anything about this little mystery project. Maybe they're communicating from the future? Enjoy.
